2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling in any Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. You must be at least 18 years of age to enrol in any Familea programme. By proceeding, you confirm that you have legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
3. Description of Services
Familea provides structured educational programmes for adults navigating family transitions and shared household responsibilities. Our current programmes are:
- Sibling Conversation Sessions — a four-session educational series for adult siblings, RM 420 per series
- Family Transition Reading Group — a monthly facilitated reading and discussion group, RM 280 per session
- Workshop for Workplace Family Programmes — a consulting workshop for HR teams, RM 4,650 per workshop
All Programmes are educational in nature. Familea does not provide counselling, mediation, legal advice, financial advice, or any service requiring a regulated professional licence. Nothing in a Programme should be construed as professional advice of any kind.
Programmes are primarily delivered at our Ipoh premises. Availability may be subject to scheduling and minimum participant numbers.
4. Enrolment and Booking
Enrolment in a Programme is confirmed upon receipt of payment in full and a written confirmation from Familea. A place is not reserved until payment has cleared. Familea reserves the right to decline or cancel enrolments at its discretion, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.
5. Payment Terms
All fees are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment is due in full prior to the commencement of the Programme. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of enrolment.
Refund policy: Written cancellation received more than 7 days before the first session of the Programme will receive a full refund. Cancellations received within 7 days of the first session are not eligible for a refund, unless Familea cancels the Programme, in which case a full refund will be issued. Individual missed sessions are not refundable.
6. Participant Responsibilities
Participants agree to:
- Attend sessions punctually and treat other participants and facilitators with respect
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personal matters shared by other participants within a session
- Use Programme materials only for personal or internal organisational use, as applicable
- Refrain from recording sessions without the prior written consent of Familea and all participants
- Not use the Programme space or communications for any commercial, promotional, or recruiting purpose
7. Intellectual Property
All Programme materials prepared by Familea, including workbooks, question sheets, facilitator notes, and written programme plans, remain the intellectual property of Familea. Where materials are drawn from publicly available sources, those sources retain their own copyright.
Participants are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Programme materials for their own private or internal use. Materials may not be reproduced, sold, or distributed to third parties without Familea's prior written consent.
8. Workplace Workshop Deliverables
For the Workshop for Workplace Family Programmes, the written programme plan, facilitator notes, and reading-pack template delivered to the client organisation are intended for that organisation's internal use only. They may not be resold, adapted for commercial use, or distributed to third parties.
9. Disclaimers
Familea's Programmes are provided for educational purposes only. We make no representations about the outcomes of attending a Programme. Participation in a Programme does not constitute and should not be treated as a substitute for professional advice, counselling, mediation, legal guidance, or any other regulated service.
Familea does not warrant that Programme content will be error-free or that it will meet every participant's individual needs.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Familea's total liability to any Participant for any claim arising out of or in connection with a Programme shall not exceed the fee paid by that Participant for the relevant Programme.
Familea is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from participation in or reliance on any Programme, including decisions made by a Participant following a Programme.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Familea and its facilitators against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your conduct during a Programme, or your use of Programme materials in a manner not authorised by these Terms.
12. Termination
Familea may, at its discretion, remove a Participant from a Programme without refund if the Participant's conduct is disruptive, harmful to other participants, or in breach of these Terms. Familea may cancel a Programme at any time for operational reasons, in which case a full refund will be issued.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally through written communication. If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
14. General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the subject matter herein. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Familea's failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued participation in a Programme following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
